Image source: RockstarINTELAn updated download size for Grand Theft Auto 6 on Xbox platforms indicates that the game will be larger than its PlayStation 5 counterpart, according to a report from RockstarINTEL (1). Furthermore, RockstarINTEL has observed differences in file size across various regions, which suggests potential content variations. These regional discrepancies are interpreted as an indication that censorship measures may be implemented in certain territories (1). The game is now less than two weeks away from its anticipated release (1).
The reported disparity in file sizes between Xbox and PlayStation 5 versions could be attributed to platform-specific optimizations or distinct asset packaging methods, as noted by RockstarINTEL (1). The observed regional variations in game size are a common practice within the industry, often employed to adhere to local content regulations or cultural standards, potentially leading to the modification or exclusion of specific game elements (1). RockstarINTEL highlights that such details, including final download sizes, are typically among the last pieces of information to emerge in the immediate lead-up to a major game launch (1).
